Anyone interested in exploring ways to bring about positive change in our community by harnessing the collective power of like-minded organizations and individuals should plan to be a part of the Bold Goals Community Lab from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 15th at B&A Warehouse in Birmingham.
The Bold Goals Community Lab will feature some of the most successful projects currently underway through the Bold Goals Coalition of Central Alabama — projects focused on measurably improving the health, education and financial stability of people throughout Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair and Walker counties. This will be an engaging event featuring:
- interactive presentations
- compelling storytelling about our work and impact
- useful data about our region’s challenges and progress
- opportunities for problem-solvers to network and help us build solutions.
The Bold Goals Community Lab will discuss and demonstrate the value of collaboration, diverse voices, measurable outcomes and accelerating progress by aligning partners, resources and agendas. We’ve invited key partners, community leaders and thought leaders at the local, regional and national level to join us for this event, which will feature keynote speaker Josh Davis, Vice President of External Affairs at StriveTogether, where he provides leadership and strategy for the organization’s communication and marketing, development and fundraising, as well as policy, advocacy and mobilization work. The Community Lab will be emceed by Dr. Alison Grizzle, Founder of Clearview Strategy Partners. Dr. Grizzle works with clients in various industries facilitating conversations among members of leadership teams around company vision, strategy and talent optimization. As a Predictive Index Certified Partner, she helps leaders align company strategy with people strategy. In her 20-year career, she has excelled at leadership development, team dynamics and strategic planning.
The 2013-2014 Alabama Teacher of the Year, Dr. Grizzle was privileged to work in both Birmingham City Schools and the Alabama State Department of Education. A graduate of Leadership Birmingham and Momentum Women’s Leadership, she currently serves on several non-profit boards, including Birmingham Education Foundation, Youth Serve, ASFA and Girls Inc. of Central Alabama, that focus on creating opportunities for youth in the Birmingham area.
