To varying degrees, we are all products of our environment. Our zip code may actually be more important than our genetic code in predicting our health and life expectancy. In fact, life expectancy within neighboring communities in Jefferson County can vary by up to 14 years.
Reduce health disparities and create opportunities for all residents of Central Alabama to live a healthy life, regardless of their background, social status or where they live.
We are providing resources and training to illustrate health disparities in Central Alabama and equip individuals and companies to promote health equity.
The Jefferson County Health Action Partnership and nearly 80 community organizations are focused on optimizing healthcare access, advancing health equity, promoting healthy lifestyles and improving infrastructure in order to reduce health disparities among our diverse populations and communities.
