The Bold Goals Coalition recently partnered with the Birmingham Coalition for Student Mental Health (BCSMH) to develop strategies for supporting and strengthening students across the region. BCSMH has periodically surveyed community stakeholders to learn about strategies that are working to help students, and to better understand current challenges. A new survey was recently launched and we need your insight.
This survey is the first in a series that will help capture the state of student mental health in Central Alabama. Community members are encouraged to take the survey to ensure their experience and perspectives are heard and considered as we develop policy recommendations for school districts and local governments about ways to further support youth in our community. Participation and answers will be strictly anonymous.
BCSMH was formed in 2020 in response to the growing crisis in student mental health at the national and local level. Annual surveys of students, parents, school staff and other community stakeholders have helped inform community-driven recommendations that are included in a Policy Playbook for Student Mental Health.
